~Book review: Dont be sad~

Dont be sad by Dr. A'id al~Qarni.
This is a must read for all people, both muslims and non muslims. As described in the about section, "this book, the culmination of deep and organised thought, says in short: Be happy, at peace, and joyful; and dont be sad."
"This is one of the very few books that the publisher decided to translate primarily because that the Arabic version became extremely popular. Another reason is that although this book was written from an Islamic perspective, the ideas and philosophies presented can be equally appreciated by non-Muslims as well."
I have only just started reading it and I have already come across thought provoking and awakening advice like this.
"Those who have a firm purpose have filed away and forgotten occurances of the past, which will never again see light, since they occupy such a dark place in the recesses of the mind. Episodes of the past are finished with; sadness cannot retrieve them, melancholy cannot make things rights and depression will never bring the past back to life. This is because the past is non existant."
I borrowed this review.
"The author enumerates many stories from history and highlights the lesson learned not just from the life of the prophet Muhammed (SAWS), the last prophet of Islam, but also from the lives of other renowned non-Muslim personalities such as Napolean, Emerson and others.
For example, the author quotes a western thinker who said that "It is most possible for you while you are behind steel bars to look out upon the horizon and to smell roses. It is also extremely plausible to be in a castle replete with opulence and comfort, and yet be angry and discontented with your family and wealth."
The book reminds the reader that sadness enervates the soul's will to act and paralyzes the body into inactivity. Sadness prevents one from action instead of compelling one towards it.
Read this book to enable you control misguided thoughts better and to help you prioritize your life and your actions !
Don't Be Sad is an absolute must-read for all people. It is full of practical advice on how to replace sadness with a pragmatic and ultimately satisfying Islamic outlook on life. It exposes to the modern reader how Islam teaches us to deal with the tests and tribulations of this world.
So, take heart and hold firmly onto the rope of Allah (swt)."
After all that please explain how you cannot want to read more of it. I am absolutely hooked and will definately be tweeting plenty of quotes from here. Do let me know if you have read it or plan on getting it and what you thought about it.
